Mission Action Day 2026
Steeped in College history, MAD began in the 1960s as a walk-a-thon along our local beaches from Henley to Semaphore and back. Today, it has grown to include a wide range of activities catering for students from Reception to Year 12. St Michael’s College prides itself on both strong participation and the success of fundraising on this special day, raising approximately $50,000 each year for those most in need.
In 2025, La Salle High School in Khushpur, Pakistan, received funding for the building of a water filtration plant, washrooms, and maintenance projects. This was made possible largely through MAD donations!
In recent years, funds have supported Lasallian projects throughout the Asia-Pacific region, as well as local and national charities including St Vincent de Paul, Caritas and the Hutt Street Centre.
This year’s funds will support repairs and maintenance, along with the construction of a computer lab and student bathrooms at various Lasallian schools in Pakistan.
As part of Mission Action Day, each year a group of Year 12 leaders work on a launch video to be shown to students to enhance their understanding of Mission Action Day and showcase the range of activities they can choose from. It is an opportunity for them to grow their leadership skills, learn more about the art of directing, planning and videography (thank you to Alice Ward from the Marketing and Communications team for supporting students and bringing together their vision) and work with students and staff across campuses (thank you to Principal Tony Daley, staff and students who were willing to join in the fun!). And always creates many laughs across the College as we watch together!
