School Sport SA (SAPSASA)
School Sport SA offers carnivals and competitions for students in Years 4 to 6, with different categories for team and individual sports. These include District Carnivals (SAPSASA) and State-wide School Competitions:
- District Carnivals: St. Michael’s Primary is part of the Western District Zone. These carnivals are held to select teams to represent the Western District at the State Championships in Swimming, Athletics, and Cross-Country. For team sports such as football, soccer, cricket, netball, and softball, students will be invited to trial alongside children from other schools within the district. The coach will then select the final team to compete in a three-day carnival against other districts.
- State-wide School Knockout: In these competitions, St Michael’s nominate a team to compete in a knockout format against other Public, Independent or Catholic schools. If a team wins, they progress to the next round; if they lose, they are eliminated from the competition.
