The graduating Class of 2023 marked a momentous occasion with their Graduation Ball at the Adelaide Convention Centre. For many, the event served as a quasi-reunion for the students and their families, radiating a delightful atmosphere that highlighted the wonderful community spirit of St Michael’s College.

As the evening unfolded within the ballroom, a palpable air of excitement enveloped students, parents, and staff, collectively reflecting on the past year. Pastoral Teachers took the stage, presenting members of each Pastoral Class to College Principal Tony Daley. With warmth and congratulations, Tony individually acknowledged each student; their faces lit up with pride – shared by grateful parents and appreciative teachers who seized the moment to express their thanks for his significant contributions to their final year.

The evening also served as an opportunity to thank our College Captains and Vice Captains, Isabella Agnos, Luis Consalvo, Lily-Mae Balkwill and Paul Choimes, for their commendable leadership throughout 2023.

Staff and students commented on the fantastic social occasion that allowed the St Michael’s community to see friends, peers and teachers in a different and more relaxed environment. After the formalities were complete, attendees were able to enjoy each other’s company over a few drinks and a delicious three-course meal. Many graduates had a slow dance with a parent, grandparent or caregiver before the dancefloor was lit up by all in attendance.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to Sarah Sokolovic for her instrumental role in organising this monumental event. Gratitude is also extended to the Pastoral Care teachers, Assistant Year Level Director, Melissa Fiacchi, and Deputy Principals Matthew Williams and Bron Kemp for their contributions to the seamless execution of the occasion.

To the Class of 2023, your exemplary participation and conduct during the event deserve commendation. As your 13-year journey of schooling comes to an end, the St Michael’s College community wishes you all the best for the next chapter. Although you now make your own way into the world, you will remain part of the Lasallian community for life.
