Year 7 2025 Important Information

Stationery Orders

The annual stationery packs are managed by Campion Education. Student subject information has been forwarded to families and stationery items can now be ordered online.

Please kindly note key dates:

  • Online ordering commences late November
  • All orders placed after Friday 20 December will incur an increased postage fee
  • Stationery packs will be delivered to nominated address from late December 2024 and into January 2025

Consent2Go

St Michael’s College uses Consent2Go to record parents/caregivers’ contact details, student medical information and media permissions. Consent2Go also manages excursion processes, including obtaining parental permission for these events. An invitation to access Consent2Go, to update your child’s details, including medical information, will be sent in late November.


SEQTA

SEQTA is a collaborative teaching and learning system that connects teachers, students and families. All Year 7 parent/caregivers will receive an email the week prior to the start of Term 1 with links and log on details to register for SEQTA.

Two options:

  1. Download the ‘SEQTA Engage’ app, on your phone, through Apple or Google Play. (Using the app is the preferred way to access SEQTA)
  2. Access through a browser on your computer https://pta.smc.sa.edu.au/
    You will be asked for a code, select ‘manual setup’ and enter the following code:
  3. Your username and password should have been received via your registered email address, if this has NOT been received, please check your spam/junk inbox and then email seqta@smc.sa.edu.au if you are still having issues.
  4. Any un-registered parents will receive an email at the start of Week 1, Term 1
  5. If you have any issues e.g. haven’t received log in details or need a password reset, please email: seqta@smc.sa.edu.au

Key sections (left hand side)

  • Assessments – your child’s due dates and grades.
  • Weekly courses – information and resources for each subject.
  • Notices – daily notices read in Pastoral Care.
  • Reports – Semester 1 and Semester 2 report. There are no hard copies distributed to parents.
  • Finance – fee information, which includes receipt and statement history.

An information session will be held in early 2025. The date is to be confirmed.


Co-curricular Nominations

We offer a wide range of opportunities across various sports, music ensembles, instrumental lessons, drama clubs, musical, dance teams, and a variety of clubs to suit students’ diverse interests.

Sport Nominations: New Year 7 students will be asked to nominate for the sports they wish to participate in before Monday 13 January 2025. We ask that families first review the content of the Co-curricular Sport Handbook for information and expectations in nominating and being selected to play school sports, including attending training and scheduled matches.

Co-curricular Music Ensembles: Please see link below the access the electronic sign up form for students wishing to be involved in Co-curricular Music Ensembles. We ask that families please read the content of the Co-curricular Music Handbook before nominating.

Private Instrumental Lessons: Families can sign up through our online form at the beginning of the year and, within a few weeks, receive all the relevant information for their students to commence lessons. If families wish their children to be signed up for instrumental music lessons before the 2025 school year commences, we could arrange this if needed. Please email: sonia.vial@smc.sa.edu.au

Performing Arts: Register your interest for Co-curricular Dance Classes, Jr Drama Club (Years 7-8) and the 2025 College Musical ‘Shrek’  via the sign up link below.


Co-curricular Uniform

Different co-curricular sports and activities will require different uniforms. Further information about requirements can be found in their respective Handbooks. All co-curricular uniforms must be purchased from the Dobsons Uniform Shop, or online at: Dobsons Uniform Shop

Please note that new co-curricular uniforms will be introduced starting Term 2, 2025. Stay tuned for details and purchasing dates.

• Students to be in full PE uniform (bring hat) as student photographs will be taken on this day for student ID cards

Year 7 Camp –
Week 4 of Term 1
Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 February
This is an exciting and important experience where all Year 7 students will embark on camp simultaneously, heading to one of five different locations
