Communication Platforms

Our Communication Approach

Effective communication should be a collaborative approach between the College and families. The College uses a variety of essential channels to keep you informed and engaged, including email, phone, SEQTA, Consent2Go, semester Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews, our weekly e-newsletter, the St Michael’s College website and social pages.

Email: Email is our primary method for disseminating key information to families. It is crucial to keep your email addresses accurate and current. We encourage families to communicate with us via email at their convenience. What to expect via email:

  • Information directly related to your child, including pastoral notifications
  • SEQTA notifications
  • Community announcements
  • Co-curricular information

In line with the St Michael’s College Community Charter, staff are not expected to check or respond to emails outside of regular office hours or weekends. Staff will respond to emails within two working days. Please take the time to look at this document: St Michael’s College Community Charter

Phone: Our administration staff are available during business hours to handle enquiries, answer questions, process forms and take messages. Please note that R-12 staff are not available to take calls during class time.

SEQTA and Consent2Go: For detailed information, please visit our SEQTA and Consent2Go page: SEQTA and Consent2Go

Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews: In Terms 2 and 3 Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews are conducted. The interviews serve as an integral part of our engagement with families in the partnership of the care and development of our students.

E-Newsletter: Our e-newsletter provides information from across our entire community. While not all content may be relevant to every family, this structure allows us to offer a comprehensive community perspective. What to expect via the weekly newsletter:

  • Weekly information, articles, images, event details, success stories, sporting results and calendar dates.
  • Directly emailed to all families and subscribers each Thursday.
  • The newsletter is available on the St Michael’s College website: The Star E-Newsletter
