We are thrilled to share the wonderful success of our Open Netball team that travelled to the recent Waverley International Schools Netball Carnival held in Melbourne. From Tuesday June 27 to Friday June 30, our talented netball team showcased their exceptional skills, unwavering determination, and remarkable sportsmanship, ultimately emerging as the champions of the tournament.
Throughout the 4-day event, St Michael’s College displayed exceptional teamwork, dedication, and passion for the sport. Our team’s undefeated run in the tournament is a testament to their hard work, countless hours of training, and the guidance of their coaches. Their achievement reflects the values of resilience, sportsmanship, and excellence that we instil in our students at St Michael’s College.
The Waverley International Schools Netball Carnival gathered teams from various schools, providing a platform for intense competition and the opportunity for players to showcase their skills. Our players faced formidable opponents from the moment they stepped onto the court, but they met each challenge head-on with determination and unwavering focus. The tournament’s format included 4 days of matches, and our team exhibited remarkable consistency and skill throughout each game. Their impressive performances on both offense and defence demonstrated their versatility and ability to adapt to different playing styles and strategies.
Not only did our team achieve victory on the court, but they also represented St Michael’s College with exemplary sportsmanship and respect for their opponents. They upheld the values of fair play, displaying graciousness in both victory and defeat, and serving as outstanding ambassadors for our school.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to every member of the St. Michael’s College Netball team that travelled to Melbourne for their incredible achievement. Their success is the result of their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of the coaching staff, and families.
It is moments like these that remind us of the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and striving for excellence. We are immensely proud of our netball team’s success and the indomitable spirit they exhibited throughout the tournament. They have brought great pride to St Michael’s College, and we look forward to their continued achievements both on and off the court.

“Wow, what an amazing week with an amazing group of girls and staff. We went into the tournament with no expectations. The team hit the court running which gave us some good leads against quality opposition. Our girls toughed it out all week, playing in positions and connections which some hadn’t played in before.
