Liliana Walsh

College Vice Captain

My name is: Liliana Walsh

My Leadership role in 2025 at SMC is: College Vice-Captain

As a leader I would describe myself as: approachable, optimistic, dedicated, trustworthy

The thing/s that I do that I am the proudest of is/are: helping my mum make up care bags for the Share the Dignity charity because: it is important to me to help out those in need in our local community.

My favourite TV program/s is/are: Gossip Girl and The Office

My greatest sporting moment: Winning the Nunawading Basketball tournament in Melbourne by three points after losing to the same team by 60 points!

My favourite band/s is: One Direction

My favourite song/s is/are: Cigarette Daydreams by Cage the Elephant and Canyon Moon by Harry Styles

Someone I admire: Caitlin Clark, because she does so many amazing things on and off the court yet remains so humble and true to herself

My favourite book/s is/are: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

In my spare time I like to: Play basketball and netball or hang out with my friends

The best thing about attending SMC is: The community atmosphere whenever one of our sports teams are playing a carnival at school during the day and everyone watches and cheers them on.

One chore I don’t like doing is: Folding clothes

Leadership means to me: Setting an example and helping to inspire and lift up others so that they can achieve their full potential.

I have a pet: Golden retriever whose name is Mallie

To be a Lasallian Leader means: To look out for everyone, making sure everyone is being treated with respect so they can thrive in a supportive and positive environment.

This year as a College Leader I wish to be best known as: Someone who is enthusiastic, open-minded, and is dedicated to introducing positive and engaging initiatives to the school.

Five words which best describe my personality are: Loyal, kind, empathetic, passionate, perceptive

A person I most admire is: My mum because she is constantly putting others before herself and emphasises the importance of perspective and gratitude in our lives.

If I could create one change for SMC in 2025 it would be: to strengthen our community spirit by challenging others to step out of their comfort zones and explore different opportunities.

A quote that I believe in is: “We have two lives, and the second one begins when we realise we only have one.”

Something funny that has happened to me was: In Finland when I left my bag at the hotel and only realised once we got to the airport, so we had to send another taxi to get it back!

A teacher at SMC I admire is:  Mr DeSilva
Why? Because he always takes the time to really get to know his students and form positive relationships with them

Something interesting about me no one knows? I collect vinyl records
