College Leader

As a leader I would describe myself as: Compassionate, hard-working and encouraging.

The things that I do that I am the proudest of are: Aerial silks as I’ve had to overcome a lot of fear to do it.

My favourite TV program is: Friends

My greatest sporting moment: South Africa winning the Rugby World Cup two times in a row.

My favourite bands are: The Cure, The Smiths, Fleetwood Mac.

My favourite songs are: “Moves” – Suki Waterhouse, “Francesca” or “Work Song” – Hozier or “Where is my mind?” – The Pixies at the moment.

Someone I admire: My Mum

My favourite books are: Books I’ve enjoyed recently are; This is How You Lose the Time War, Atlas of the Heart, The Body Keeps Score and A Room of One’s Own.

In my spare time I like to: Draw, gym, and see friends.

The best thing about attending SMC is: The opportunities and adventures you get to experience, the people you meet and the café’s warm cookies, that they arguably don’t make enough of.

One chore I don’t like doing is: Dishes

Leadership means to me: To empower voices and encourage collaboration to create a community that people are proud to be a part of.

I have a pet: Cat whose name is Rayne

To be a Lasallian Leader means: To put your best self forward and be there to help others.

This year as a College Leader I wish to be best known as: Someone who people can turn to for help and support when they need it.

Five words which best describe my personality are: Supportive, empathetic, independent, complex and kind.

If I could create one change for SMC in 2024 it would be: To bring the community closer together and create a more inclusive environment.

A quote that I believe in is: “Direction is more important than speed.” Or “Progress not perfection.”

Something funny that has happened to me was: I almost got locked in a gym overnight once.

A teacher at SMC I admire is: Ms Gilmore or Ms Sykes because they are not only approachable but present themselves with confidence and strength, are light-hearted and humorous and have an amazing influence on those around them.
