Maintenance and Grounds Officer

ESO Grade 3 / 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
Location: Primary Campus – Beverley

The Maintenance and Grounds Officer is responsible for ensuring school buildings and facilities are safe, functional and well presented, and for maintaining the College grounds and ovals. This includes keeping plant and equipment in good working order to a high standard.
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the role will assist with maintenance projects and support the set-up of College events, along with other duties as required.
This position requires a high level of initiative and accountability, with the ability to manage tasks independently while working collaboratively as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a similar role
- Broad range of general “handy” maintenance skills
- Ongoing maintenance of the grounds and ovals
- Knowledge of workshop practices
- Strong knowledge of Safety, Risk and Compliance practices.
- Ability to design, construct and manage small projects
- Forklift license (desirable)
- Trade qualifications or equivalent (electrical, cabinet marking, carpenter, fitter, boiler maker or maintenance technician (desirable)
- IT skills familiar with a range of software packages (desirable)
- A pleasant “can do” attitude with the ability to use initiative
- Support for the Lasallian and Catholic Ethos of the College together with a willingness to work as part of a team.
