The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus School Mass
Fostering a sense of belonging and unity
We are delighted to share with you the wonderful experience our Primary Campus students had on Friday 16 June, when they attended the special School Mass on the Feast Day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This memorable Mass, presided by Fr Lancy, took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hindmarsh and brought together students from the parish schools in our community.
Year 2 students, along with our dedicated Primary Campus Leaders and Faith Service Community Leaders, played a significant role during the Mass. They took on the responsibility of opening the celebration and doing some of the prayers and readings, showcasing their growing confidence and commitment to their faith. The sweet singing voices of our young students filled the church with joy and reverence, touching the hearts of those in attendance. We are immensely proud of their efforts and the maturity they displayed throughout the service.
The Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus holds a special place in Catholic devotion, reminding us of Jesus Christ’s boundless love and compassion for humanity. Moreover, this Mass provided our young learners of other faiths with the opportunity to visit a Catholic place of worship for the first time, deepening their understanding of the Catholic faith tradition.
The shared experience of celebrating together with students, staff and parents from other parish schools fostered a sense of belonging and unity. The presence of our Year 2 students and student leaders during the Mass was a testament to their growth as individuals and as members of our school community. Their participation was acknowledged by Fr Lancy, who commended their commitment to the celebration.
We would like to express our gratitude to the parents and guardians who supported their children to participate in this Mass. Your involvement plays a vital role in nurturing their spiritual growth. We look forward to continuing to provide our students with opportunities to deepen their faith and engage in meaningful spiritual experiences.
