Let’s Join Hands to Pray for Peace
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20)
On Thursday morning, our Primary daily prayer focus was on Peace. Every class was invited to pray for peace together. Mr Boulton and his 4B students gathered in Campfire to pray the Rosary for Peace guided by Sr Nithya. It was a special prayerful time for all those present.
The Rosary is a prayer for peace that helps us to contemplate key moments in the life of Christ, the Prince of Peace, the one who is “our peace” (Eph 2:14). The Rosary is also a special prayer that draws us closer to Christ through our Mother Mary, because she was the one who was present in many key moments in the Life of Jesus.
We turn to our Mother Mary’s intercession. By praying the mystery of Christ, we are learning about the secret of peace and unity in our own homes and in the world. Our young students begin to appreciate that “we are all connected” and “no one is saved alone” (Laudate Deum 19).
In these challenging times of conflict, our commitment to the human and Christian education of the young, takes on even greater significance when viewed in the light of the countless lives of children lost in the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine. We are deeply saddened by what is happening to our brothers and sisters. We share their pain and suffering. While these times present significant challenges, as Lasallians across the world, we uphold the principle that our schools and organisations are places of learning and hope.
We come together to extend our prayers of solidarity for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East, Ukraine, Sudan, India and in places where there is war and hatred.
Merciful Jesus,
We entrust to Mother Mary’s intercession the daily prayer for peace.
Empower your one human family to join hands on our journey of faith.
We pray for peace and unity for all nations.
Send your spirit of hope to our brothers and sisters in need.
May your love and care help them not to be afraid,
and to know that your peace will come.
May we pray and work for peace and unity and foster charity and justice in our world. Amen.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever!
