RESEARCH PROJECT

Congratulations to Year 12 student Maddison Furnell on her contribution to an article for the Iron Clinic’s Facebook page. Based on the findings of her research project, Maddison investigated the link between iron deficient anaemia (IDA) and the development of depression and anxiety. She was asked to do this by the researcher she interviewed for her RP, Beth McLean (PhD candidate at UWA), and went about this very quietly and modestly. Madison’s post attracted a lot of attention and some really positive feedback in the comments, as well as 88 shares to date. Beth told Maddison that she thought it was the most shared/viewed post they’ve had and that it attracted 62 new page followers!

BASKETBALL AUSTRALIA CAMP

Congratulations to Year 10 student, James Mackenzie, who has been selected for the 2022 Basketball Australia Under 15 Men’s National Camp. This camp will provide James the opportunity to be selected for the 2022 FIBA Oceania U15 Championships to be held in Guam later this year. Earlier this year James also captained the U16 South Australia Metro Team in Western Australia for the National Championships.
