Congratulations
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
Congratulations to Year 12 student, Megan Adrain, who has been selected to be a part of the inaugural South Australian Student Representative Council (SA SRC). The council was formed by the Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP) and includes 165 other students in Years 10 to 12 from across the state who will be given the opportunity to have a platform to voice their opinions and act on their concerns.
Megan explained, “To be in the SA SRC means that I will be involved in an action group throughout the year that will focus on an issue that we think is important to address through a project that will be implemented in our local communities. On Friday, 13 May we took our first step towards creating a better future for all South Australian youths. I, along with the other SA SRC’s, attended a summit where we met other students who are passionate about making change in their community, we met and had a chat with a local Member of Parliament, and heard from other groups and individuals who are making a positive impact in Australia. We learnt about how change is made, thought about what issues are important to us, and how we as students can start creating change within our community.”
Well done Megan, the College community is proud of your leadership and involvement in implementing positive change!
