YEAR 7 GIRLS FOOTBALL
Congratulations to our Year 7 Girls Football Team who won the Knockout Grand Final against Tatachilla Lutheran College at Goodwood Oval on Monday 14 September.
Right from the first bounce, the St Michael’s midfield brought the intensity, crashing through packs and getting the ball moving on a very large oval. The play flowed back and forth with both teams having strong skills to move the ball but our defense held up well, being disciplined to stick to their player and only allowing one behind. We were able to capitalise on our forward 50 entries kicking three goals in the first quarter through our team focus on keeping width and leading to space.
Tatachilla tried to apply pressure through strong tackles and tagging some of our dominant players but our depth of talent across the entire field continued to dominate, each quarter kicking a few more goals and solidifying our lead and taking out the win. Across the rounds many different players contributed to our final win and I would like to thank all players for their dedication to training and the amazing improvements they have made.
