8/9 STATEWIDE KNOCKOUT BASKETBALL GRAND FINAL

On Thursday 18 November, a team of Year 8 and 9 girls played in the 8/9 Statewide Knockout Basketball Grand Final day at Lights Community and Sports Centre.

Their first game was a slow start, playing a tough Modbury High School team. The team had tremendous energy but the ball just wasn’t connecting and therefore didn’t get the result we would’ve liked going down to Modbury by 7.

The team improved as each game went on, beating St Francis De Sales, then Henley High, and ended up playing Modbury again for the Grand Final. The girls came to play in the final game, with their efforts leading to a great win of 38-18.

An excellent effort from the squad. Congratulations to the girls on a great carnival!
