Community Service Opportunity

This week we promoted to Year 10 and Year 11 students, involvement in The Smith Family Student2Student Buddy reading program. We know that the act of service is critical for personal growth but it also can be used in future years within Scholarship applications, Award applications such as Student Citizenship and even allow for fruitful reflection in interviews. We encourage all students to get involved. Interested students have been asked to email rose.coorey@smc.sa.edu.au

Work Experience

A reminder that any Year 11 or 12 student who would like to undertake a work placement in 2023, needs to register to attend the upcoming Prep Session to be held on Thursday 2nd March 2023. Register by 24th February by following the link in the email sent on February 2nd 2023.: “Preparation Session Microsoft Form”

We wish to offer our congratulations to Year 12 student Cameron (Barlow) Year 12 for receiving a school-based apprenticeship with MI Carpentry and Construction.

Cameron will achieve his SACE by blending his final year of schooling with working on the tools and attending trade school. Cameron completed a Certificate II in Construction Pathways at Western Technical College in 2022 and enhanced his qualification and employability skills by undertaking work experience.
